In the five years since its beginning,
Faith in Action Community Connection has brought real help to older
and disabled adults in Hancock
County.
When you lose your mobility, your
independence is threatened. Often simple things can become
overwhelming.
Things like not being able to get
to a medical appointment or the grocery store can make it impossible
to remain in your own home.
Faith in Action volunteers are
friends that make it possible to continue to live with dignity and
independence. Knowing that someone will check on your elderly parent
while you are at work and stop by for a friendly visit or to deliver
a hot meal can relieve a huge burden of stress for a family
caregiver.
The need for Faith in Action
Community Connection is clear. The program has become an important
part of the community.
There is no charge for Faith in
Action’s services. However, the program cannot continue without
financial support from the community. At this time, we receive no
Federal or State funds; our funding comes entirely from fundraisers,
small grants, local municipalities and private donations.
The Board has set a fundraising
goal of $50,000 for 2008 to meet our budget.
Please help us
to keep this important and innovative program going in Hancock
County
