The task force was
successful in obtaining a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Faith
in Action start-up grant in 2003.
Faith in Action
Community Connection is an independent, nonprofit 501 ( c ) 3
organization that collaborates with many local organizations and
churches to address the needs of older adults in Hancock
County, especially the frail elderly.
The Faith in
Action model was developed by the Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation in the 1980’s. For more information on the national Faith

The program
is run by a 15 member Board of Directors and a full-time Program
Director with a part-time assistant.

President:
Roberta lives in Orland and is an attorney who specializes in
elder law

of breath but his last CAT scan showed no new tumors and
we were very happy about that. He is on oxygen 24/7 but
he is doing quite well, thanks to Faith in Action

Anne lives in Ellsworth and is a Social Worker at Blue Hill

Janet Lewis, Secretary:
Janet is Family Caregiver Specialist for Eastern Agency on Aging
for Hancock and Washington
Counties.
Joe Losquadro,
Treasurer:
Joe lives in Trenton and is a retired businessman. His
mother-in-law has benefited from FIACC services.
Bill Clark, Ellsworth:
Bill is a financial advisor and Chair of the Board’s Finance
Committee. He lives in Ellsworth.
Linda Joy Elliott,
Penobscot:
Linda is Social Services Director at Courtland
Living Center, Ellsworth
Pat Foster,
Ellsworth:
Pat is a retired librarian who directed the Ellsworth Public
Library for many years.
Jack Maxim,
Trenton:
Jack is a retired Lutheran pastor who was the founding pastor of
St. Andrew Lutheran Church and helped to found the local food
pantry. He is care recipient of FIACC.
Joan Preble,
Ellsworth:
Joan is an Episcopal Deacon and a day care provider for young
children; she is also a Faith in Action volunteer driver.
Mark Remick, Trenton:
Mark is a businessman in Ellsworth whose mother uses FIACC
services.
Lynda Tadema-Wielandt,
Lamoine:
Lynda is retired and active as a volunteer in several
organizations, including FIACC and Hospice of Hancock County.
Sally Smith,
Lamoine:
Sally is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who specializes in
Alzheimer’s Disease. She works in Bar Harbor, Ellsworth and Bangor.
Gertrude Wildes,
Hancock:
Gertrude is a community volunteer who has used Faith in Action
services
